No, this is not possible. Scans of the original documents must be uploaded.

If the original documents are not in German or English, a translation must also be submitted. The translation can be in German or English. However, it does not replace the original document. Both documents (original plus translation) must be scanned and uploaded as one PDF document.

The translation must be done by a court-certified translator.

Translations from Austria and abroad are accepted.

Depending on the country in which the documents are issued, legalisation may be necessary. Detailed information about the necessary legalisation can be found here.

The legalization must always be affixed to the original document. Documents without the required legalization cannot be considered for admission.

Language certificates do not have to be legalized.

No! Incomplete documents will result in your application being rejected. You will not be able to reapply for the same degree programme in the same semester. Therefore, do not apply until you have all documents, legalisations and proof of language proficiency.

In any case, a confirmation issued by the university must be provided that the degree program has been fully completed. As a gesture of goodwill, the university may accept a provisional certificate up to one year after graduation.

If the degree was completed more than one year ago, a final diploma must be provided. Under no circumstances will we accept provisional certificates if it has been more than one year since graduation!

No! Applications are only possible after completion of the previous studies.

Restricted Study Programs

Admission to the Master's degree program in Psychology and the Master's degree program in Pharmacy is restricted. This means that you must also take part in an admission procedure for these programs.

The admission procedure is carried out by a different department. If you have any questions about the admission procedure, please contact the relevant department:

https://studienzugang.uni-graz.at/de/

ATTENTION: The registration for the admission procedure and the application to the Academic Affairs Office are independent of each other.

Especially for international applicants who have to attend the preparatory course, this means that they have to make sure to complete the admission procedure for the academic year in which they will complete the preparatory course.

The admission procedure for the restricted EnglishNAWI Graz degree programs takes place once a year. Only applicants who pass the admission procedure can apply via the online portal of the University of Graz.

Detailed information on the selection procedure can be found here.

You will be informed by email when to upload the application after you have been selected for the degree program you have applied for.

You can find a list of English taught Master's programs here.

All other courses are only offered in German. Therefore, a German certificate is required when applying to those courses.

Information on the accepted language certificates can be found here.

Information regarding the upload of documents

Only documents of sufficient quality can be processed. Missing or poor-quality documents lead to a rejection of the application.

In your own interest, please make sure that the scans of the documents meet the following criteria:

  • All pages (front and back) of the documents are scanned
  • the documents are uploaded as a PDF file
  • you upload colour scans of the originals
  • The writing is legible (not blurred, not too small)
  • Stamps, signatures and, if applicable, legalizations are fully recognisable (not cut off at the edge)
  • The document must not contain any etchings, manual changes, etc
  • Documents that are not in German or English must be uploaded as one PDF file containing the original and the relevant translation
  • You have signed the application form yourself

Note: If the quality of the scans is not sufficient, the University of Graz reserves the right to request original documents.
