Admission

Admission is only possible if you fulfill all requirements and have all required documents. Therefore, please read the information carefully before you start the application. This will make the admission process easier for you.

Key Information

You are considered an international student if you completed the education required for your studies abroad.

Applications can only be submitted within the submission deadlines. There is an submission deadlines for the winter semester (semester starts in October) and a submission deadlines for the summer semester (semester starts in March).

No applications can be submitted outside of these periods.

The admission process for international students consists of two steps

Step One: Application

You must first apply online for your studies. Please upload all required documents completely and within the submission period in the application tool.

Step Two: Enrollment

If your application is successful, the form “Application for enrollment” will be activated in the application portal. Upload the signed form in the application tool.

Only then can we send you your matriculation number and payment details. If we receive the payment on time (a few days after the payment) the enrollment is completed and you are a student of the University of Graz.

Step Two for VGUH participants:

The enrolment takes place via the Vorstudienlehrgang (VGUH), not the applciation tool. This means you you do not have to sign the application for enrollment and is therefore not available in the tool.

We receive all necessary data from the VGUH. Once we have the data, we will send you your matriculation number and payment information by email. Please check your emails regularly (including the spam and junk folders).

Two things are checked based on the application.

1. Are the legal and formal requirements met? These include, among other things, legalizations and language certificates.

2. Is the general university entrance qualification (content requirements) met?  These include general minimum requirements as well as regulations specified in the curricula of the respective degree programs.

Information regarding the general university entrance qualification (content requirements) for bachelor- and diploma programmes can be found here.
