Can I submit scans of copies or official copies instead of scans of the originals?
No, this is not possible. Scans of the original documents must be uploaded.
Which documents needs to be translated?
If the original documents are not in German or English, a translation must also be submitted. The translation can be in German or English. However, it does not replace the original document. Both documents (original plus translation) must be scanned and uploaded as one PDF document.
The translation must be done by a court-certified translator.
Translations from Austria and abroad are accepted.
Do my documents need to be legalized?
Depending on the country in which the documents are issued, legalisation may be necessary. Detailed information about the necessary legalisation can be found here.
The legalization must always be affixed to the original document. Documents without the required legalization cannot be considered for admission.
Language certificates do not have to be legalized.
Can I apply if I do not yet have all the necessary documents, language certificates and/or certifications?
No! Incomplete documents will result in your application being rejected. You will not be able to reapply for the same degree programme in the same semester. Therefore, do not apply until you have all documents, legalisations and proof of language proficiency.
I would like to apply for a German-language degree programme with restricted access. What do I need to consider?
Some studies have restricted admission. This means that you must also take part in an admission procedure for these studies.
The admission procedure is carried out by a different department. If you have any questions about the admission procedure, please contact the relevant department: https://studienzugang.uni-graz.at/de/
Affected degree programs can be found here:
Bachelor's degree programs with restricted admission: https://studienzugang.uni-graz.at/de/
Teacher training programs with restricted admission: https://www.zulassunglehramt.at/
ATTENTION: The application for the admission procedure and the general application process are independent of each other. This means that it is also possible to go through the general application process before taking part in the admission procedure.
Especially for international applicants who have to attend the preparatory course, this means that they have to make sure to complete the admission procedure for the academic year in which they will complete the preparatory course.
